Your Team Could Win $300 this Thursday!
Our event is holding a recruitment challenge for all teams participating in the Relay For Life of Greater Shelby Township. The team with the most registered members by noon April 9 will win $300 toward their team’s fundraising goal. The team with the most registered members by noon May 16 (at the event) will win $500. Team Final Round won this challenge last month. Will they win it again? Only time will tell but right now it is anyone’s game!
Get $50 For Attending Team Captain Meetings This Thursday!
This year we want to encourage all teams to participate in the monthly planning meetings (see details below). Teams who are represented at the April 9 (this Thursday) meeting will receive $50 to put toward their fundraising efforts. Last month we awarded donations to several teams and we would like to award a donation to yours! With all the participation, we had a very lively meetings with all sorts of new ideas. Sadly, this offer does not extend to ELT (Event Leadership Team) members.
Three Important Rules For Our Event
As in years past, please remember the following three rules and communicate them clearly to your teams. They are so important to a safe and healthy event.
- No dogs or pets are allowed at this event. Participants or their guests with dogs or pets will be asked to leave. Service dogs that are trained to do work or perform a task for persons with disabilities are allowed, but comfort and/or emotional support animals are not. Please make this very clear to anyone you invite.
- There is no smoking or vaping at this event. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited as well.
- Between 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm, no bicycles, roller blades, or skateboards are allowed on the track. Wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons are allowed.

The 2026 Relay For Life of Greater Shelby Township, scheduled for Saturday May 16, 2026, at River Bends Park. This year’s event will be held from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm. Below is the tentative schedule for the event.

Fundraisers
Euchre Tournament: Charlie’s Angels are hosting a Euchre Tournament Saturday, April 18th. Click here to see the flyer. Doors open at 5:00 and play starts at 6:00. Advance payment is required, so contact Jamie or Mary via phone or email listed on the flyer.
Casino Trip Fundraiser: Team Charlie’s Angels is hosting a Casino Road Trip Fundraiser Saturday April 25. This year’s destination is Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Cost: $ 50.00 per person (includes $20 free play/ $10 food voucher/ $10 Bingo Bucks). Participants must be 21 or older. Advanced registration and payment only. Craft Show Information
We will be hosting a craft show again this year and would like you to spread the word to the crafters and non-profit organizations in your life. Like last year, crafters who want to sell their wares at our event will be given the opportunity to have a 12×12 space for a $25 donation to our event. We are also on the lookout for non-profit organizations who would like to participate. If there are non-profits who want to set up and distribute information about their organization, they can do so for free. If a non-profit wishes to fundraise at our event, they can do so for a $25 donation. Either way, please have them text Chris Fecteau at 586.306.9176 for more info and to reserve a space.
2026 Meeting Schedule:
Attending meetings introduces you to your fellow Relayers and gets you up to speed on all your Relay needs.
Where: Shelby Township Activities Center – 14975 21 Mile Rd, Shelby Twp.
Who: Event Leadership Team (ELT) meets at at 5:30 to socialize with official meeting beginning at 6:00
Team Leads and Volunteers meet at 7:00 (come to the ELT meeting if they are interested)
When:
Thursday May 14 – the last meeting before Relay, also known as Bank Night. If you have donations you want to turn in before Relay, this is an excellent time to do so. Unlike our other meetings, this is on a drop-in basis. Ask questions, pick up supplies, and say hello to your ELT!
