Team Leaders: We still haven’t heard from many of you and we want to make sure you have the best experience possible so here are some tips and information, especially if you are new to Relay and don’t know where to start
- If you are new, please read Relay 101 to find out more about our event and what you can expect between now and May 21
- Not sure how to start your fundraising? One easy way is to solicit items that can be part of our Silent Auction. When your item sells, your team gets credit for the amount earned. You can bring items or baskets valued at a few dollars all the way up to big ticket items. Follow the link for more details and to get in touch with Carolyn our Silent Auction lead.
- Some teams raise the majority of their money before Relay with things like car washes, pancake breakfasts, candy sales, and more (see above for more info about some that will be happening before the event). Another way to make money before the event is to simply ask for donations from friends, coworkers, and relatives. The event website makes it very easy to ask for donations on Facebook. Every team has their own way of fundraising, but all money goes to the same great cause.
- You can also raise funds during Relay. Teams sell goodies, craft items, and an assortment of items to those attending the event. If you have a plan for an on-site fundraiser the day of the event, check with Sheryl Hagstrom at shagstrom@msn.com to register your fundraiser and to help avoid duplicates.
