Hello Relay for Lifers and welcome back! The 2025 Relay for Life of Greater Shelby Township will take place on Saturday May 17, 2025 at River Bends Park. Our theme for this year is “Rummage for Relay” We are switching it up with a Garage/Vintage Sale theme where we will encourage everyone to sell their gently used items as on-site fundraisers and will also sell spots to local vintage sellers or crafters who would like to take part in our event. You pair these with the Silent Auction and we will have a shoppers paradise on our hands!
2025 is the 40th anniversary of Relay for Life so you really want to be a part of the fun. The Relay for Life of Greater Shelby Township 2025 website is up and ready for you to register your team! I urge you all to go to RelayForLife.org/ShelbyTownshipMI and sign up today.
Registration Challenge
We are looking for all team captains who have not already registered to do so as soon as possible. Those captains who are registered and have a total of seven members on their team by February 7, 2025 at 11:59 pm will earn an exclusive Relay for Life Team Captain can cooler!
Team Captain Shirts are Back!
This year, if your team raises $1,000, your captain and co-captains will get their very own team captain shirt! What are you waiting for? All the cool kids will be wearing theirs and you don’t want to be left out do you?
Fundraisers
Superbowl Squares: Team Final Round is selling Superbowl Squares to raise funds to end cancer as we know it. Each square is $10 and you can buy a square by texting team captain Carrie Price at 586.557.7455. Payment and winnings will go through Venmo: @Carolyn-Price-25
Portillo’s Fundraiser and Kick-Off Get Together: Join us Tuesday March 4 from 11 am to 8 pm at 14425 Lakeside Circle Sterling Heights to have some tasty treats, meet with the RFL of Greater Shelby Township gang (most of us are planning to be there around 6:00 pm), and raise money to fight cancer. 20% of sales will go to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Celebrity Waiter / Hall Party: Join Northeast Macomb Relay for Life in their Eighth Annual Celebrity Waiter Party Saturday March 8th 6:00-11:00. All proceeds raised by RFL of Greater Shelby Township will return to our event. There will be a dinner catered by Michael’s Touch of Class Catering, an open bar, DJ, dancing, gift basket auction, cocktail stroll and so much more! A Night at the Races: Team Charlie’s Angels will be hosting a fun night out featuring dinner, drinks, and wagering on horse races at Shelby Gardens Saturday March 15. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and many opportunities to sponsor and bet, all to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Tickets are $65 each or $120 a couple. Attending meetings introduces you to your fellow Relayers and gets you up to speed on all your Relay needs.

Who: Event Leadership Team (ELT) meets at 6:00
