Relay for Life of Greater Shelby Township Kick off Event Sunday April 2
Do some laps around Lakeside Mall on Sunday April 2 to get ready for Relay from 1:00 – 4:00. We’ll be sharing the mall with a vendor event so we should have an excellent turn out. Wear your Relay finery and help us get the word out to the general public. More info to follow!
Calling all Cancer Survivors!
If you know a survivor or are a cancer survivor, call 1-800-277-2345 to sign up with our event. Tell them you are signing up for Relay for Life of Greater Shelby Township and you’ll be signed up for a shirt, a chance to take a survivor lap, and have a lunch at Relay! American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACSCAN) Cancer Action Day March 15, 2023
Wednesday March 15 is Cancer Action Day at the Michigan State Capitol in Lansing, MI from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm EST. Kelley Riley is the Relay for Life of Greater Shelby Twp. ACSCAN lead and has all the info you need. Email her at kmriley1980@gmail.com for info on this event. If you want to advocate for cancer legislation from the comfort of your home, learn how for just $10 a year you can support the needs of cancer patients and their families in state and federal legislatures by following this link or by emailing Kelley at kmriley1980@gmail.com.

NEW Laurie’s Legacies Bowling Fundraiser – Team Laurie’s Legacies is hosting a bowling fundraiser on April 30th from 2-4pm at 5 Star Lanes in Sterling Heights. Cost is $25 for 2 hours of bowling, shoe rental, pizza and pop. See the flyer here. Sign up here.
Charlie’s Angels Casino Trip – Saturday May 6 to the Saganing Eagles Landing Casino in Standish, MI. Hop on the bus for a fun day (8 am to 6 pm) of gambling and comradery. 21 years and older only please. See this flyer for more details.

Theme Laps, Volunteers, and Prizes
Our wonderful, fun team of high school volunteers are bringing back theme laps this year. They have all sorts of fun ideas to keep the party going, but we would like to hear if you have any. Please email your lap ideas to relayneighborhood@gmail.com to put them in the mix. If you know anyone who still needs volunteer hours you can follow this link for a variety of opportunities.
We are also soliciting donations from sponsors that we will award to the fundraising efforts of our teams the day of the event. For example if we hold a race or contest, the winner will get cash donated to their team’s fundraising efforts. Let us know if you know an organization or group that would like to donate to make our event more lively!
