More Silent Auction Info

It’s Carolyn from the Greater Shelby Township ELT regarding the Silent Auction for our event in May! Maybe you are thinking of participating in the Silent Auction, and hopefully this will help you decide.

The bid sheet. At this link you will find a copy of the bid sheet, please reference it as I walk you through it. The bid sheets we will use will be printed on card stock, so please DO NOT print this off and use it since only card stock will be used for the actual event.

ITEM NUMBER – DON’T fill that out! I do that at check in.

TEAM NAME – Tell everyone who you are representing! That way I know which team gets the money credit when the item in purchased.

ITEM DESCRIPTION – Briefly explain your item. If it’s a basket don’t just put “summer fun” basket, list everything that’s inside it so we know what we are bidding on. Sometimes with the cellophane wrapping and bundling items get hidden.

COMPLIMENTS OF – give credit where credit is due! If you got something donated from a business or organization, give them some free advertising and list them. If one person from your team put together the basket or item all on their own it’s up to you if you want to list their name or not.

STARTING BID – where does the bidding start out? I recommend taking the street value of the item and chopping it in half as a starting point, but it’s totally up to you.

ESTIMATED VALUE- is the actual value of your item. If it’s a gift card it’s pretty self explanatory, but it helps to put the value on bundled items because they add up quickly!

BID INCREMENTS – every time a new bid gets written for your item, the bid goes UP this amount. Generally speaking low vale items usually are $1 – $2 per bid and higher value items are $2 – $4 per bid, but again, this is up to you!

BUY IT NOW – just like eBay you can “Buy it Now!”. If you have an item you think will go FAST (concert or sporting event tickets, sports memorabilia, jewelry, or something unique) customers can buy it in the spot! I usually suggest going close to the actual or a little OVER market value for this option!
