RFL of Greater Shelby Township, May 5, 2025
Happy Cinco de Mayo! I hope you are all ready for the 2025 Relay for Life of Greater Shelby Township taking place on Saturday May 17, 2025 at River Bends Park because it is less than two weeks away. Our theme for this year is “Rummage for Relay” We are switching it up with a Garage/Vintage Sale theme where we will encourage everyone to sell their gently used items as on-site fundraisers and will also sell spots to local crafters who would like to take part in our event. We have 23 crafters signed up to join us with a wide variety of goods to sell!
Important Rules to Remember
Be sure to let everyone you invite to this event know that:
- No dogs or pets are allowed at this event. Attendees with dogs or pets will be asked to leave. Service dogs that are trained to do work or perform a task for persons with disabilities are allowed, but comfort and/or emotional support animals are not.
- There is no smoking or vaping at this event. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited as well.
- Between 11:00 am and 11:00 pm, no bicycles, roller blades, or skateboards are allowed on the track. Wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons are allowed.
Tips for a Smooth Event
- Set up starts at 8:00 and all vehicles must be off the track by 10:00
- This is a rain or shine event. Come prepared for anything: Raincoats and outerwear for cold or wet and hats and sunscreen for sunny and hot.
- If you are holding a team rummage sale, remember to bring plenty of cash, especially small bills for your customers

Calling All Craft Vendors
While we are almost at capacity for our crafters, we still have a few spaces left if anyone knows someone who would like to participate. Each space requires a $25 donation to Relay. Have them text Christine Fecteau at 586.306.9176 to get the ball rolling.

50/50 Raffle Tickets
Our event is once again holding a 50/50 raffle. If you are interested in selling tickets, they cost $2.00 each and are available from our Raffle Chairperson Dianne Jochum. You can get tickets from her at our meetings (next one is scheduled for March 20), or call her at 586.215.9517.

Ketchup for Cancer: Today is the last day to buy flowers and vegetables from Team Charlies Angels to benefit Relay for Life. Tomatoes, peppers, lettuce bowls, and a whole array of spring flowers can be yours. See flyer for details and ordering instructions. Ketchup for Cancer flyer
White Castle Fundraiser: A night out at White Castle in Shelby Township is in the works for Friday May 9 from 3 pm to 9 pm. In addition, there will be a bake sale to raise funds. Come on out and look for our “Charity Bake Sale” banner and treat yourself to some tasty treats. See flyer for details. White Castle flyer.
2025 Meeting Schedule:
Thursday May 15 is our last meeting prior to our event. It will be a drop in format which is one more chance to pick up supplies, 50/50 tickets, and Silent Auction forms. We can also answer any last minute questions you may have. Show up between 6:00 and 7:00 pm at the usual place (see below for locations
